The 2023 edition of the Jumping International de La Baule (Loire-Atlantique) will take place from 8 to 11 June at the legendary Francois André stadium. Now just days before the arrival of summer, the Officiel de France offers the promise of superb competition with the best riders and horses in the world.
It is an event all equestrian enthusiasts eagerly await each year. The date has been marked well in advance to be sure you don’t miss the festivities. For the 2023 edition, spectators of the Jumping International de La Baule will have to book their stay on the shores of the Atlantic from 8 to 11 June 2023, one month later than usual. It is a chance for spectators, athletes, riders and horses to enjoy the almost summer-like weather.
Coupe des Nations, Derby, Grand Prix, the must-see events at the Jumping de La Baule
From 8 to 11 June, the CSIO 5* in La Baule will, once again, present its traditional high points. The historic Coupe des Nations, the only one held in France, will allow the Blue Jackets to excel a few weeks before the European Championships in Milan (29 August – 3 September). It will also be an opportunity to make a mark before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In La Baule, Saturday is the day of the Pays de la Loire Region Derby. It is a unique show, one of the last in Europe, with natural obstacles to overcome and a course far from traditional show jumping standards. On Sunday, 11 June, the Rolex Grand Prix Ville de La Baule will be the closing event of the competition, with the shared ambition of all to see their name engraved in gold leaf on the main stand where the greatest in the history of the discipline already appear. Meanwhile, the CSI 1* riders will have the chance to ride on the same grounds and in the same conditions as the world’s best. It is a rare privilege offered by equestrianism.
Free admission to witness the best riders and horses in the world
For several decades, the Jumping de La Baule has represented excellence. That of the riders and horses present on the François André Stadium track, only a few hundred metres from the beach. An unparalleled atmosphere and an enthusiastic public that pushes the couples to the top transcends them and encourages them to give their best. The French, of course, are always highly motivated to excel in front of their supporters. But in La Baule, everyone has the same right to the respect and encouragement of the public. The ovation reserved for the winners is universal.
Because tradition is one of the driving forces behind the Jumping International de La Baule, access to the competition will, as always, be free of charge for all spectators. A commitment to welcome the largest possible audience, an openness that is part of the event’s DNA. Only a limited number of seats per day, out of the 3,000 seats at the François AndrĂ© stadium, are available for paid reservation to secure a seat in the official RenĂ© Pasquier tribune (opening of the ticket office on Wednesday, 23 November, with the possibility of reserving a 4-day pack).
Mark your calendars.
The party promises to be superb on the shores of the Atlantic from 8 to 11 June 2023.
